Jamie M. Prince, MD

Dr. Prince, a North Carolina native, earned her undergraduate degree in Biology from UNC Charlotte and went on to complete both her medical degree and a Master of Public Health at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill.
Dr. Prince completed her residency in Ophthalmology at UNC, where she served as Chief Resident and received the Arthur C. Chandler Jr., MD Resident Teaching Award in recognition of her dedication to teaching and patient care. She then pursued advanced fellowship training in vitreoretinal surgery at Emory University in Atlanta, GA. She cares for patients with a wide range of retinal conditions, including macular degeneration, diabetic eye disease, retinal vascular occlusions, retinal detachments, macular holes, epiretinal membranes, and secondary intraocular lens implantation.
She has authored several research publications and presented at national conferences, with a special interest in improving access to eye care for underserved communities. Fluent in Spanish, she is passionate about connecting with and caring for patients from diverse backgrounds.
When she’s not in the clinic or operating room, Dr. Prince enjoys tending to her garden, getting creative with painting, and hitting the golf course. She also loves spending time with family and friends, who keep her grounded and inspired.
